Phase one of the refurbishment of the Club’s storage accommodation has been completed. The Club is particularly indebted to: -
Kevin Nunn, who kindly donated all of the racking that is in the compound, and lent the Club two generators for the duration of the project.
George Oliver, who conceived the original layout, and who spent much time in helping to construct it.
Bob Day, who took George’s initial concept, designed and planned the work required, including the very impressive roof that stretches over all of the cages, and spent many hours helping to construct it.
Robin Busby, who gave up much of his time to help on the project, and especially for spending all day on a very cold, wet and windy Saturday, fixing all of the metal sheets to the roof.
Brian Harrison, who has used his significant joinery skills in producing all of the very impressive fitments for the walk-in cage that will be used to store buoyancy aids, paddles, spray decks, helmets etc.
Chris Newcombe, who is not even a Club member, but who gave up many hours of his own leisure time, to do all of the welding work required completely free of charge.
All those who have painted the cages.
Paul Coates, who assisted greatly in the hire of equipment and the purchase of supplies.
Anyone else that I may have forgotten!
Phase two of the project will involve building a roof to go over the racking at the rear of the compound. Hopefully, work on this will commence in September.
