Many congratulations to Louise Donnington, one of the Club’s regular slalom coaches, who has won a gold medal in the 2009 Canoe Slalom World Championships at La Seu d’Urgell in Spain this weekend. Along with Lizzie Neave and Laura Blakeman, she was a member of the Great Britain K1women’s team that came first in the team event, finishing over five seconds ahead of the Slovakian team that finished second.
In the individual women’s K1 event, Louise finished a very creditable 12th in the semi final, only narrowly missing qualification for the final.
