Firstly a big “thank-you” to those people who made last Saturday’s session possible, just three days after the “suspected” arson attack. Thank you to Dawn Scott and Steve Evans for arranging the use of equipment with both Desperate Measures and Lakeside Adventure of Nottinghamshire County Council, and to these organisations for kindly providing the equipment for us. Also a huge “thank you” to all those members who came along with items of kit that they had grown out of or no longer required, and handed them to us for the Club’s use. Your generosity is much appreciated. Last week we had 65 paddlers on the water, with 27 of those hiring equipment. Well done everyone!

We will be meeting as usual on Saturday 12th September. We will definitely have the use of boats from Lakeside Adventure, and it is hoped that we will also have some demo boats as well, although the transportation of these is still being sorted out. Also, we will try to get the use of a trailer to transport some boats from Lakeside to the Winfield Pool, but again these arrangements have still to be finalised. It would be really helpful if those of you who will need to hire kit can arrive reasonably early (say 9.15 to 9.30) so that if we do require you to go to the Lakeside area (end of the Regatta Lake) to fetch kit, you will have plenty of time so to do.

Last week some of you said that you did have spare boats at home that you could bring along for other members to use on the day. If any of you are prepared to do that this Saturday, then that would be great. We may not need them, but it would give us a bit of extra flexibility

Please continue to come to the usual place in the Slalom Control Car Park in the first instance, to register and to find out exactly what the arrangements are.
